My name is Michelle Lee – I'm a designer with over 3 years of experience in graphic design, UI/UX/Visual design, and creative marketing. I've worked for start-ups and studios across a diverse sector of industries such as healthcare, beauty, wellness, retail, and education, and I'm always looking to grow and learn more!
I enjoy being curious about finding the best solutions and thinking creatively, and I love finding ways to connect with people and contribute to my community. While exploring my interests, I realized that I was so drawn to design due to its unique intersection of business strategy, research methodologies, psychology principles, and design aesthetics, which allow me to use creative problem solving to blend functionality with good user-centered experiences.
I’m always trying to learn something new, expand my knowledge, and grow as a person – whether that be from learning new words, hobbies, crafts, or processes. I’m currently looking for new classes and hobbies to take up, and am learning ASL through an online course. (I also love to take advantage of my [free] resources!)
I love art as a creative outlet, and if I’m not designing, I might be crafting – drawing, painting – and working in the studios. Some studios that I have experience working in include screen printing, jewelry, textiles, and woodworking. Outside of art, I enjoy writing, reading, and playing puzzle games.
I believe that in order to be understood by others, you need to be able to understand others, as well. I’m always trying to tap into my empathy and see things from a different perspective, not only in design where it helps to be able to understand a different perspective, but also just to be closer to and to respect my community.
